What We Manufacture

Sash Packs

Rivertown Windows manufactures all-wood sash replacement kits for both historic and non-historic applications.

These consist of a pair of jambliners with mounting clips and two new all-wood sash. Sash replacement kits are available for both rectangular and radius windows. Sash exteriors can be painted, primed, or aluminum-clad in our of our standard colors. Interiors can be ordered raw, primed, or factory-painted. Jambliners are available in both white and beige. Sash replacement kits are a great option you do not want the added expense of completely removing the old window or re-trimming the around the window is cost prohibitive.

OldTown Series

The OldTown series was designed for applications where historic all-wood windows (wood exterior/wood interior) are required.

These windows feature modern 5/8" insulated glass and tilt functionality while maintaining the historical features required by historic district governing bodies. The windows include a historical brickmould; available brickmould profiles are shown in the Accessories folder. Custom brickmoulds can also be produced.

Brickmould can be attached to the unit at the factory or shipped loose. Given the all-wood nature of this window, it allows for maximum flexibility of design; radiused top sash, radiused frames, thicker sash, or variations in the stile and rail thicknesses are easy changes with this series. The beautiful all-wood OldTown window will require more maintenance over its lifetime than the UpTown and NewTown series.

UpTown Series

The UpTown series was designed for applications where historic-style windows are required, but where the historic district governing body permits the installation of an aluminum-clad window.

These windows are all-wood construction with the added benefit of durable aluminum cladding on the sash parts and extruded aluminum covering the frame and sill. UpTown windows come with one of two brickmould profiles (Soulard or Single-Bead). These brickmoulds are integrated with the frame cladding to produce a single seamless cladding that all but eliminates the possibility of water infiltration in this part of the window.

The single-bead brickmould is available with an optional arch filler piece. This piece is typically delivered as a rectangle that can be cut on the job site to match the radius of each individual arched opening. While lower maintenance than the OldTown series, these windows have fewer options with regards to brickmould profiles and sash design variations.

Additionally, radiused windows are possible but more costly with this window series. The UpTown window is great for historic applications where the governing body does not require a wood-exterior window and a lower-maintenance aluminum -clad exterior is permitted.

NewTown Series

The NewTown series was designed for new construction applications.

Unlike the OldTown and UpTown series, where historical brickmoulds are integral to the window unit, this series has narrow extruded frame cladding without brickmould.

The cladding features an accessory kerf; it is also available with an optional nail fin. These windows are all-wood construction with the added benefit of durable aluminum cladding on the sash parts and extruded aluminum covering the frame and sill. While this window can be installed in a variety of wall types, it is ideally suited to wood frame openings. The NewTown window is great for customers who want a beautiful and durable contemporary window.

Storm Windows

Rivertown storm windows are designed for applications where it is not practical or desirable for the existing historic windows to be replaced, but the existing single-pane windows offer inadequate protection against weather infiltration.

Storm windows are constructed of durable sapele mahogany; these can be radius or rectangular. The stiles and rail widths can mirror the widths of existing historic windows they are protecting, so they minimize the visual impact on the historic sight lines.

Special Projects

Rivertown's craftspeople are proficient in replicating a wide variety of historic windows.

Common special projects include true divided lite sash, bent glass windows, windows with insulated leaded glass or stained glass, gothic style windows, and refurbishment of existing of historic sash with insulated glass.
