Our Process

All Rivertown windows and mouldings are made with premium clear-grade wood delivered straight from the mills to our facility. Pine windows are made with the highest grade Ponderosa and Sugar Pine. Windows can also be made with Sapele Mahogany for maximum performance and durability. Insulated glass panels are made in our facility using clear or Low-E glass; tempered and obscure glass are also available. The double-pane glass is separated by a Duralite® Warm-Edge spacer, which provides a highly-durable seal that minimizes thermal transfer. Our skilled craftsmen can replicate your historic window’s existing lite pattern, using either a simulated divided lite (SDL) or true divided lite (TDL) technique.

Rivertown Windows is proud to announce that, as of May 2024, we exclusively use the premium wood finishing products manufactured by General Finishes.

General Finishes is a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of premium stains, primers, and paints for the millwork industry. Rivertown Windows uses General Finishes’ low VOC water-based products on all of our wood products. These cutting edge finishes are engineered to provide superior durability, while also minimizing the use of harmful chemicals. The wood finishing process at Rivertown Windows begins with a wood pre-treatment product manufactured by General Finishes which helps the wood withstand sunlight, moisture, and mildew. The pre-treatment process also prepares the wood to evenly accept primer and paint. If the window is ordered with primer-only (no paint topcoat), it receives a coat of premium General Finishes primer after pre-treatment. If the window is ordered with a paint topcoat, two coats of premium General Finishes topcoat are applied. Custom topcoat color matches are available, so your windows will perfectly match the other exterior elements of your home or building.
